9101 Applying NERC Standards Part I
Knowledge of the NERC standards and the application of these standards in the workplace are important for maintaining reliability and good operating practices. This course is designed to provide you with a practical understanding of each NERC operating standard.
This course gives a practical overview of key NERC reliability standards and promotes a working knowledge of the meaning and purpose of each standard as it relates to operating practices and grid reliability. Just as the Balancing Authority has standards that contribute to controlling Interconnection frequency per area size, this part covers ACE and its values, and how well a Balancing Authority controls its ACE.
As you may know, time is of the essence in correcting deviations, but what constitutes a reportable disturbance or the default Contingency Reserve Period and how is frequency bias calculated? These are just a few of the items covered along with the main responsibilities of a Reliability Coordinator and other essential operating information.
